Ya know, I was taken to task a few months ago for repeating an old-timer's observation that, "Soft living makes for soft people." I wouldn't say I feel vindicated, but I would say that, in a morbid sort of gallows humor-ish way, that I'm a little gratified that I'm not the only one with those concerns...
